A bellow is a cry. A bellows only works through reciprocal motion — nothing fills except as something else empties, and one bellows can breathe for an entire organ. Brittany Bindrim's new single lives inside that double meaning: dreamy, driving darkwave about reassembly; broken parts, mirrored and rebuilt into a whole that rises past everything it survived. The song never says who we is, and that's the point: a lover, a collaborator, a crowd, a scene. Shot through with the duality that runs through all her work — shadow and light, ruins and dreams — "Bellow" trades Counterpoison's dance-floor aggression for something more luminous. Where the album burned, this one breathes.

“'Bellow' lives in dualities — shadow and light, ruins and dreams — until the halves finally fit," Bindrim says. "The broken parts aren't flaws to hide; they're the exact shapes that let us lock into each other. Reassembly isn't restoration. What comes back is greater than what broke."

Brittany Bindrim makes darkwave/synthpop that gets in your veins — infectious, ferocious, and impossible to stand still to. Her sophomore album 'Counterpoison' (October 2025) pairs cinematic atmosphere with relentless beats, harsh synths, catchy melodies, and powerhouse vocals — a grittier, faster-paced evolution from her critically praised 2024 debut 'Velella Velella' (Metropolis Records). Both records were produced by Matt McJunkins (A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Poppy). Bindrim writes about duality, resistance, and transformation, delivering songs that move between dance-floor aggression and ethereal vulnerability without losing their edge. A veteran songwriter, performer, and the frontwoman of I:Scintilla, she brings two decades of stage presence to a solo project that stands entirely on its own.

Brittany Bindrim RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘Counterpoison’, a Gritty & Vivid Darkwave Evolution
Counterpoison is a darkwave/synthpop record that fuses cinematic atmosphere with punishing beats, heavy synths, and emotionally charged vocals. It marks a grittier, faster-paced evolution from Brittany Bindrim’s debut Velella Velella (Metropolis Records, 2024), diving deep into themes of duality, resistance, and renewal.
“The title Counterpoison embodies the album’s central theme — the notion of art as an antidote,” Bindrim explains. “It explores the dualities of light and dark, and the corrosive systems that consume us, from political powers to internalized ideologies. In that struggle and tension, music and art can become a kind of resistance — a means of healing and awakening through confrontation.”
At its core, Counterpoison is about transformation — an antidote to the toxins that corrode both individually and collectively. The title reflects the idea of art as a remedy: a means to transmute pain, betrayal, and societal decay into self-knowledge and empowerment. The songs wrestle with light and shadow, inner conflict, and the search for meaning amid chaos.
Where Velella Velella drifted through dreamlike waters, Counterpoison strikes with greater urgency — pulsing with kinetic rhythm and raw emotional drive. Each track builds a world of its own, merging darkwave grit with luminous melody, and exploring themes of creative survival in an era defined by unrest and digital devaluation. The result is both visceral and reflective — an album that stares into the dark not to succumb to it, but to transform it.
